Veterans of Foreign Wars Scholarship

The Veterans of Foreign Wars are offering a $500 scholarship to a senior in each of the Douglas County High Schools who will be attending university, community college or trade school. It is not a requirement that the student have a family member serving in the Armed Forces, however, extra weight is given to those who have a family member who has served. The applicant will write an essay, not to exceed 1000 words on the subject: " How will I use  my education to improve or serve my country". Applications are in the career center.  Deadline: May1, 2013.
